Will Arnett is opening up about a lighthearted exchange he shared with his ex-wife, Amy Poehler, after both of their podcasts earned Golden Globe nominations.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter while promoting his new film Is This Thing On?, Arnett, 55, revealed a text message he received from Poehler shortly after the nominations were announced on Dec. 8. Arnett’s podcast SmartLess, which he cohosts with Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes, and Poehler’s podcast Good Hang were both nominated in the Globes’ newly introduced Best Podcast category.

According to Arnett, Poehler, 54, sent a simple but celebratory message. “Congrats. Let’s party,” she wrote, adding jokingly that she didn’t have Bateman’s phone number — “but that’s probably for the best,” Arnett recalled with a laugh.

Despite their divorce, Arnett and Poehler appear to maintain a friendly relationship. The former couple married in 2003, separated in 2012, and finalized their divorce in 2016. They share two sons, Archie, 17, and Abel, 15.

Both podcasts are competing against other popular shows, including Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, The Mel Robbins Podcast, and Up First.

Arnett is also gearing up for the release of Is This Thing On?, a comedy-drama centered on divorce and family life. Directed by Bradley Cooper, the film stars Arnett alongside Laura Dern as a couple navigating the end of their marriage while raising two young sons.
