Authorities have arrested 13 suspects in connection with a large-scale theft ring accused of stealing more than $2.2 million worth of merchandise from Home Depot stores across nine states, according to law enforcement officials.

Investigators say the group carried out a coordinated retail theft operation, targeting stores in multiple regions and moving stolen tools, equipment, and high-value items through a network of resellers. The operation reportedly involved organized crews who would enter stores, quickly grab specific products, and escape before security could intervene.

The stolen items were later sold online and through private channels, generating a significant profit for the group, officials added.

Authorities began tracking the suspects months ago after noticing similar theft patterns across several states. Multiple agencies — including local police departments, state investigators, and federal partners — collaborated to identify the individuals involved and map out the multistate operation.

Law enforcement says the arrests represent a major step forward in combating organized retail crime, which has surged nationwide over the past two years. Home Depot officials also said they are working closely with investigators to recover stolen merchandise and prevent future incidents.

The suspects now face a range of charges, including organized retail theft, conspiracy, and possession of stolen property. The investigation remains active, and officials say additional arrests could follow.
